Over £300 Raised For Prostate Cancer!!
We had great fun touring the pubs of Huntingdon for the first time post-lockdown.  It was really great fun to sing wear silly hats, and of course, have a few beers too (well, it would be rude not to!).  We raised over £300 for Prostate Cancer!

Thank you to all who saw us and donated so generously, and special thanks to all our hosts; George Hotel, Falcon Tavern, Olmo Lounge, Thee Tunn, Samuel Pepys, and Bridge Hotel.

Ouse Valley Chorus are very pleased to welcome two new members to the chorus!

Brian, our club secretary, officially welcomed Ryan and Nick.  Ryan teaches music but is new to barbershop and is one of those lucky few who can sing whichever part he feels like doing at the time.  Nick has returned to barbershop after a bit of a break and will sing lead but hopes to be able to do tenor too.

    NEW MUSICAL DIRECTORS!!
Ouse Valley Chorus has some exciting news to share; after Paul Clay our current MD decided to stand down, we’re really happy to have been able to secure the services of Nickie and Ian James as joint Musical Directors.  Wednesday 3rd November saw Nickie and Ian’s first rehearsal.

Nickie is currently MD of the LABBS chorus Welwyn Harmony.  She is also a fully qualified performance judge and the LABBS performance director.  Ian is a multiple gold medal winner, both in chorus and quartets, as well as a past BABS chairman.  Both have performed on the international stage as well as jointly directing Chorus Iceni to success too.

Paul said “I’ve really enjoyed my 12 years directing OVC but I’m really looking forward to getting back onto the risers and supporting Nickie and Ian from the lead section.”  Nickie and Ian added “We’ve seen and heard the OVC development that Paul has brought to the chorus over the last few years at convention and we’re looking forward to build on this and continue to develop the chorus in the future.”

Andy Vaughan, OVC chairman said “The appointment of Nickie and Ian shows our commitment, drive and desire to improve and develop both as a chorus and as  individual singers. We rehearse in Brampton, Huntingdon every Wednesday at 1930 and we’re very happy to have singers come along to rehearsal, whether as a one off or something more permanent.”

Ouse Valley Chorus held it's third annual Open Evening on 16th October.  We were delighted to be joined by so many singers from other local choruses to sing together and enjoy a bit of refreshment afterwards.  We didn't quite manage to do all 12 polecats but we had a brave attempt!

You can see some of the songs we performed HERE.
